Privacy Policy
Learnrv8 is a workplace training platform. Your employer (or the organisation you work with) uses it to deliver short training modules, knowledge checks, and skills records to its staff. This policy explains what personal information the platform processes, why, and the choices you have. We process personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act, 2013 (POPIA).
Who is responsible
Your employer decides who is enrolled and what training is assigned — it is the responsible party for your enrolment. Elev8r IO (Pty) Ltd, trading as Learnrv8, operates the platform on your employer's behalf as an operator under POPIA. Questions about why you were enrolled or what you have been assigned should go to your employer's training administrator; questions about the platform itself can be sent to hello@learnrv8.com or via elev8r.co.za.
What we process
- Identity details supplied by your employer: name, employee number, work email (if you have one), mobile number, site, department, and grade.
- Training records: which modules you open and complete, your knowledge-check answers and scores, skills/competency records, streaks and badges. These records can serve as evidence toward formal workplace qualifications.
- Technical records: sign-in events and security audit logs, including IP addresses. We use only strictly necessary cookies, for signing you in — no advertising or tracking cookies.
Training over WhatsApp
If your employer has loaded your mobile number, you can choose to do your training through WhatsApp. When you message our WhatsApp number, we match your phone number to the profile your employer loaded and ask you to confirm your identity before anything is linked. Messages are delivered through Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform, which processes them under Meta's terms. We only ever reply to conversations you start. You can stop the channel at any time by replying STOP; after that we send nothing until you reply START. Using WhatsApp is optional — the same training is always available in the Learnrv8 app.
What we do not do
- We do not sell personal information, ever.
- We do not use your information for advertising.
- We do not publish rankings of named staff.
Service providers
The platform runs on Google Cloud infrastructure. WhatsApp delivery uses Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform. AI assistance used to draft training content works from your employer's source documents, not from learner personal information, and every AI-drafted module is reviewed by a named person before any learner sees it.
Where your information is processed
The platform is hosted on Google Cloud, and messages sent over WhatsApp are carried by Meta's WhatsApp Business Platform. This means some personal information is processed on servers outside South Africa. Where that happens, the transfer is made under section 72 of POPIA to providers bound by contractual and legal protections that are substantially similar to POPIA's conditions for lawful processing.
Security
We apply appropriate, reasonable technical and organisational safeguards as required by section 19 of POPIA: encrypted connections (HTTPS), tenant isolation enforced in the database, role-based access, and security audit logging. If a breach of security ever compromises your personal information, the affected employer and the Information Regulator will be notified as required by section 22 of POPIA.
Retention
Training and competency records are kept for as long as your employer requires them — they may be evidence toward qualifications and workplace compliance. Security audit logs are kept for platform integrity. When an account is removed, it is deactivated so that records remain traceable without the account remaining usable.
Your rights
Under POPIA you may ask what personal information we hold about you, ask for corrections, object to processing, or lodge a complaint with the Information Regulator (South Africa) (POPIAComplaints@inforegulator.org.za). Start with your employer's training administrator — they control your enrolment — or contact Elev8r IO (Pty) Ltd at hello@learnrv8.com.

Changes
If this policy changes materially, the effective date above will change and your employer will be notified through the platform.
